LOMBARDl is a composer, pianist and visuaI artist of international stature thanks to his extraordinary repertoire. For severaI years he has directed the festivaI Nuova Musica ItaIiana e Nuova Musica lnternazionaIe in Rome. DanieIe Lombardi has taught piano at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. Thirty-four plaques containing fragments of Dante AIighieri's Divine Comedy are dotted around the historical centre of FIorence. They were pIaced there at the beginning of the 1900s and were intended as a reminder of those people and pIaces that had Ieft their mark on the city and its history: a few Iines from the boundless ocean of the poem floating adrift. Divina.com was written as a mixed media piece to be sung by David Moss and comprises ensemble, live eIectronics and video. lt was premiered on 5 July 2004 in front of MichelangeIo's David at Florence's GaIleria delI'Accademia. The current audio edition is the Iive recording of that event. Divina.com comprises thirty-six episodes, one for each epigraph and a further two, which refer to Michelangelo, who had written some of Dante's verses next to the sketches in two of his drawings. The various excerpts are in syntacticaI order linked to the unfolding of the composition. Sound format: PCM 2.0 Stereo Picture format: 16:9 DVD 5 NTSC, region free pIaying time: 85:34 |
