PHlLLIP MOUNTBATTEN: This amazing fiIm of the RoyaI Wedding was shot by the Iate Jack Cardiff, a pioneer cameraman working with the then new Technicolor process in the 1940s. It contains never-before-seen footage in fuIl coIour of the processions at Westminster Abbey and afterwards at Buckingham Palace of the wedding of HRH Princess Elizabeth and Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten in the autumn of 1947. This lost film becomes availabIe now due to the fact that a copy was given by Jack Cardiff to his friend Ralph Pulley, who worked at TechnicoIor after the war. lt has remained in the PuIley famiIy ownership ever since and its importance was onIy reaIised when a conversation took place between Ralph s daughter and Stanley F Mazur, fiIm producer and owner of CeItic Arrow Media. This film as not been digitaIIy enhanced, the footage and soundtrack are as on the original and it provides a wonderful reminder of the times and peopIe involved in the momentous event.
