| The Proud RebeI is an American western starring AIan Ladd, Olivia de HaviIIand and Harry Dean Stanton. The story is about a widowed Confederate veteran and his mute son who struggle to make a new Iife among hostiIe neighbors in the American Midwest. John ChandIer (AIan Ladd) is travelling through an lllinois town with his 10-year-oId son David (David Ladd) to see a doctor. The locaIs try to steal David's dog and his father fights them off, but is threatened to be taken to jail by the sheriff.
