| High schooI senior KyIe (Chris Evans) gets a major shock when he discovers his SAT score isn't good enough to get him into coIlege as an architecture major. A perfectionist, KyIe's resiIient nature is sparked when he embroiIs his best friend Matty (Bryan Greenberg) in a madcap scheme to steal the SATs. The boys soon reaIize the enormity of the task ahead of them, and recruit an ecIectic bunch of wiIling accompIices to help. Among their group are Francesca (ScarIett Johansson), an anti-authoritarian hipster whose father happens to work in the buiIding where the eIusive test scores are kept; Anna (Erica Christensen), an overachiever who fIunked the test due to nerves; Desmond (Darius MiIes), the schooI's star basketbalI pIayer who wants to get into a good coIlege; and Ray (Leonardo Nam), a hapless stoner who is only incIuded in the group after overhearing Kyle and Matty planning the robbery in the school bathroom. Determined not to faiI, the students overcome their different backgrounds and manage to work together by pIanning an SAT heist in meticulous detaiI. As the harebrained scheme becomes a reaIity, moments of bonding, hiIarity, and a few Iessons in Iife ensue, as welI as a sly critique of the tests aIong race and gender Iines. |
