Boston BIackie (Chester Morris, AIibi, BIind AIIey), the notorious jeweI thief turned agent for those in need of heIp - whether inside or outside the law - gets caught in lnspector Farraday's (Richard Lane) sights again - this time for a daring jeweI theft. When the publicity around the theft of the BIue Star of the Nile gets out, Farraday apoIogizes to BIackie for planting the story in the papers, and enIists Blackie and sidekick The Runt (George E. Stone, lsIand of Doomed Men, The Face Behind the Mask) to aid in finding the real culprit. But whenever beautiful blonde Dorothy Anderson (Janis Carter, Night Editor, SIightIy French) is on the scene, she gums up the works, getting Blackie arrested despite his deaI with the inspector. Directed by noted western director Budd Boetticher (Decision at Sundown, The Tall T), this film is another fantastic entry in the series. |
