| While out on patrol with a squadron of WWlI Navy airmen, a pilot Iearns that he has just become a father. He can't wait to return to base so that he can see his wife and newborn child, but when he finally gets there he learns the tragic news - the mother has died due to complications from the delivery. His fIying buddies are unable to console him and, in his misery, he takes his own Iife. Now the surviving squad members begin a new mission - keeping the baby out of the hands of officials who want to put it up for adoption.
