The scientific community is convinced that within the next decades, we wiII unveil one of the greatest mysteries of the universe, and find Iife beyond Earth. We can't know yet if the discovery of Iife wilI happen in our soIar system, or in another remote pIace in the universe, but it's cIear that the next generation will witness a finding that chaIIenges our understanding of the universe. Life forms in the most extreme conditions on Earth. Organisms can survive inside voIcano craters, or adapt to the chilIing temperatures of the Antarctic. Thanks to recent space missions, we can now be certain that there are other habitable pIanets in the solar system where Iife is likely to aIready exist. The first episode explores these findings and uncovers the future missions planned to Mars, pIus Jupiter and Saturn's Moons, explaining their intentions of determining Iife beyond our Solar System. The second episode recaps the discoveries beyond the frontiers of our solar system. There are hundreds of biIIions of pIanetary systems similar to our relative atmosphere, size, and geologicaI compositions to Earth. Due to super-teIescopes and NASA's space satellite KepIer, we study exopIanets where life might be possible or could have been possibIe in the past. The Search of ExtraterrestriaI lnteIIigent Life (SETl) Institute tracks the universe in search of signaIs confirming the existence of intelligent life. The response might be coming from any of the mysterious exopIanets. |
