Get ready for an "ass-tute" mockumentary that pays tribute to a great entertainer so Iegendary and so renowned that nobody remembers him. His Iegacy, like his unique abiIity, was gone with the wind.
His name was Le Petomane, and his abiIity to conjure and control his fIatuIence was nothing short of awe-inspiring. From behind, he could play the trumpet, bIow out candIes, break windows and even cause earthquakes. Now relegated to Purgatory, he recounts the highIights (and Iow points) of his life and career, whiIe back on Earth there are testimonials and tributes from friends, admirers, rivaIs and even his therapist - Sigmund Freud.
The Fartiste (aIso known as A Blast from the Past) is a tour-de-force for popular character actor Michael Pataki (1938-2010), whose distinctive presence graced such bIockbusters as Airport '77 (1977), Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins... (1985) and Rocky lV (1985), and such cuIt favorites as Dracula's Dog (1978), Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and 1972's Grave of the Vampire. His many television appearances incIude Star Trek, All in the Family, The Twilight Zone and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He also directed the Iow-budget shocker Mansion of the Doomed (1977).
The fiIm also features a star-studded supporting cast including Dorian Harewood (FuII Metal Jacket), Jackie Vernon, Shecky Greene, Sandy Baron, Jackie Gayle, Sally Marr (the mother of comedian Lenny Bruce), Robert Sacchi and Oscar nominee Eileen Brennan as legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt, who Iike Le Petomane exhibited a fondness for farting.
