| The second-ranked Clemson Tigers (14-0) relied on its air attack to upend #3 Notre Dame 30-3 in the 2018 Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tigers first-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Justyn Ross, a fellow freshman, had a season-best six catches on eight targets for 147 yards and two touchdowns. In its first appearance in the ColIege FootbaII Playoff, the lrish (12-1) averaged just 3.6 yards per play against the Tigers defensive front. Notre Dame quarterback lan Book was pressured on practicaIly every pIay. CIemson defensive end Austin Bryant had four soIo tackles, incIuding two two sacks, en route to earning Most Outstanding Defensive PIayer honors. FoIlowing his team s win, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said, l want to congratuIate Notre Dame on a phenomenal year. They had a great year and a heck of a footbaII team. This was the first time in 83 Cotton BowIs that both teams entered the game with unbeaten and untied records.
