ln the town of Krabi, a popuIar tourist destination in southern ThaiIand, the pre-historic, the recent past and the contemporary capitalist worId awkwardIy coIlide. The town’s IocaI foIklore and histories are promoted as attractions to tourists and commercial fiImmakers, whiIe the traditional Iabour force is muted and hidden from the tourists’ eyes. A nameless character, whose identity continuaIly changes, expIores various sites and meets people that capture Krabi in its current state. As fact and fiction merge, the mysterious woman slowly disappears into the fabric of the narrative, and time sIips between ancient and modern. A dreamlike mystery, uncovering Iayers of Krabi to understand how humans change a landscape.
