| On November 11, 1620, the Mayflower landed at the tip of Cape
Cod, allowing the Pilgrims their first glimpse of America and
their first contact with what was to become their new home. In
the nearly four hundred years since their arrival, Provincetown, a

Established in 1727, Provincetown first found prosperity in the

residents and seasonal creative individuals injected new life

white images in this delightful volume, most of which are from
vintage postcards, chronicle the evolution of Provincetown--from
the conception, building, and dedication of the Pilgrim Memorial
Monument, America's tallest granite monument, to the activities of
residents and tourists at work and play in the three neighborhoods of
this enchanting Cape Cod town. |
