| This study was designed to assess rate of detection and prevalence of HPV in cervical carcinoma hysterectomized patients through both immunohistological and chromogenic in-situ hybridization techniques and to identify and to differentiate histopathologically the high risk genotype of HPV (16, 18 ) from low risk genotype ( 6,11 ). Most investigative works have pointed the virus as an oncogenic agent which implicates as promoter of cervical cancer . There are more than 200 subtypes of HPV ,including low risk types and high risk types (8) . As the size of the problem and the incidence of HPV infection in Iraq are still underestimated, this work is an attempt to explore their influence and participation in the pathogenesis of cervical carcinoma in middle of Iraq. |
