| Traditional long division is very difficult for third and fourth-graders. They must estimate or guess quotient digits and then test these guesses with error-prone multiplication. Errors usually cannot be found until the long, frustrating process ends with a result that does not check. Good News Long Division requires no guessing and no multiplication. Good News Multiplication is much easier than the traditional method because it involves absolutely no multiplication, so no memorization of multiplication tables is required.
