Author and certified yoga therapist Sydney Bond introduces Language Yoga Therapy for children, families, and cognitive aging through yoga movement, breath, sound, and story to optimize brain health. In yoga, we practice flipping our lid or being uncomfortable through different poses. We use our breath to self-regulate emotions, so we know how to put the lid back on and be comfortable again. When we flip our lids, allowing stress and anxiety to inhibit the mind, some parts of our left brain don't work, including language. Language yoga therapy gives power back into the left hemisphere, so both sides of the brain work together in balance and help fight mental deterioration.
