James Bonn was one of the real pretty boys of the late 90s hardcore scene. With a surprisingly handsome look that's somewhere in between Noah Wylie and Pauly Shore, he seemed poised to become one of the major male stars of the new millennium. Instead, James Bonn has seemingly stepped away from the scene just as he was on the cusp of hardcore greatness.
James Bonn grew up in a relatively privileged environment, a young man from a self-described 'good family' who still doesn't want his real name mentioned in public. He got a degree in exercise physiology before joining the U.S. Army, where he spent three years. After leaving the service, James moved to Southern California and tried his hand at mainstream acting. He didn't meet with much success, mainly getting roles in softcore shorts for the Playboy Channel. His good looks and willingness to strip down soon had folks offering him porn roles. Eventually, he decided to take them up on their erotic offers.
James exploded on the scene in a relatively short amount of time. Starting in late 1997, he climbed the ribald ranks of the industry due to his unmistakable sexual skills. Simply put, James Bonn is a guy who brought out the best in any women he was paired up with. Sensitive yet demanding, he could bring most any sexual aspect required to a scene, and his reliable performing abilities meant that producers loved him almost as much as the ladies.
To catch a dose of James in the clinch, check him out opposite sweet little Taylor King in 'Nineteen Video Magazine #13.' While his portrayal of an older man leaves a bit to be desired, Taylor's babysitter routine more than makes up for it in a scene that both performers really seem into. James worked mainly for high-end companies like Vivid and Wicked, and he's on display in many of their lavish offerings of the late 90s.
In 'Chloe,' James starred in a pair of wild scenes. First he took on Chloe herself, who put in her typically nymphomaniacal performance in a scene that also featured some interesting use of fried eggs. He later hooked up with Danielle Rogers while reading a lingerie catalog in one of the freakier outings we'd seen in some time. Bonn's wanton work with Tia Bella and T.J. Hart in 'Fresh' is another stand-out scene.
James won the 1999 XRCO Best Actor Award for his work in 'Masseuse #03,' nabbing the honor for his role as a nerdy nebbish who worships bitchy Taylor Hayes from afar -- and brothel worker Melissa Hill from up close. James' jolting scenes with Taylor, Leanni Lei and Chloe scorched the screen, and he definitely was a deserving winner.
Just as James Bonn was hitting the hardcore heights, though, he pulled back. In 2000 and 2001 he started easing himself out of the scene, and by 2002 he was hardly ever appearing in front of the lusty lens. He's devoting more and more time to his job as a personal trainer, so only time will tell if his carnal career is over or just on hiatus. Female fans and starlets alike are hoping for the latter.
