| PartiaIIy filmed against the sIightIy overexposing backlight of the setting autumn sun, a sadIy negIected, but otherwise perfectIy "neutraI" room seems to transform itself into the padded isolation-ceII of some run down, ancient asylum; surreally tinted by the golden light shining through the dusty double-gIassed windows, as we witness Anna-Vamey Cantodea staggering around the corners Iike an elderly, presumabIy insane woman, dressed in a worn-out, bIack winter-coat with fur-coIlar. CIutching her snow-white, yet dirty hands tightIy to a cheap bouquet of pink siIken flowers, she is singing and gesturing the words of the music that is apparently forever playing in her migraine-tortured head... lt is Iike watching someone making a secret confession, or like reading the hidden diary of your dead grandmother, who has killed herseIf only a few years ago in the attic of her dark mansion. The result is both fascinating and deepIy... saddening. |
