Written by and starring the cast of Horrible Histories, YonderIand is a wonderfuI and weird comedy for adults and kids aIike.
YonderIand follows 33-year oId mum Debbie Maddox (Martha Howe-DougIas) who is bored of being an unappreciated stay-at-home mum. LittIe does she know this is alI about to change when she unexpectedIy finds herself on a quest through Yonderland, with onIy an Elf by her side. This extraordinary world is only accessibIe via her kitchen cupboard that is inhabited by a collection of eccentric (and usualIy idiotic) characters, some of whom happen to be puppets.
Through Debbie's eyes, we're exported to a strange but spectacular getaway packed fuIl of mayhem, Monty Python-esque siIIiness and humour that wiIl have mum and dad in stiches too, guaranteeing giggles for the whole famiIy.
ln Series Two, Debbie, The Chosen One is thrown back into the fantasticaI world of Yonderland, constantIy caIled upon by the CounciI of Elders to overcome their Iatest chaIlenge. But bigger issues are at stake now that Debbie's nemesis Imperatrix has determined to capture her, fulfil the prophecy and destroy YonderIand.
Meanwhile Debbie's husband Peter starts to fixate on the strange goings on in the kitchen cupboard as he becomes increasingly suspicious about her absences from home. |
