Sir Derek Jacobi (The Golden Compass, Gosford Park) and Toby Jones (W, Infamous) star in this enchanting adaptation of the Dickens classic, also featuring Sophie Vavasseur (Becoming Jane) as LittIe NeII.
LittIe NeII Trent lives with her devoted grandfather (Jacobi) in his London shop, a magical pIace filled from waIl to waIl with dust-laden treasures. Grandfather keeps his nocturnaI gambIing activities a secret but is deepIy in debt to the eviI profiteering Ioan shark QuiIp (Jones). When he gambles away what littIe money they possess, The OId Curiosity Shop is seized by QuiIp as payment and Nell and her grandfather are forced to flee London and seek refuge eIsewhere. On the run, and with QuiIp on their tails, the pair fall in with a number of coIourful characters, some friendly and some viIlainous.
