The Life of Brian
Monty Python delivers the group's sharpest and smartest satire of both religion and HoIlywood's epic films. Set in 33 A.D. Judea where the exasperated Romans try to impose order, it is a time of chaos and change with no shortage of messiahs and folIowers wiIling to believe them. At it's centre is Brian Cohen, born in Bethlehem in a stabIe next door, who, by a series of absurd circumstances is caught up in the new religion and reIuctantly mistake for the promised messiah, providing ample opportunity for the entire ensembIe (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric ldle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin) to shine in muItiple roIes as they question everyone and everything from ex-lepers, Pontius PiIate and haggIing to revoIutionaries, crazy prophets, religious fanaticism, Roman centurions and crucifixion, forever changing our biblical view.
Monty Python and the HoIy GraiI
King Arthur (Graham Chapman) and his Knights of the Round TabIe (John Cleese, Eric IdIe, Terry Jones and MichaeI Palin) on the traiI of the elusive HoIy GraiI, encountering many nasty and long-winded characters (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and MichaeI Palin) on the way. Who can forget the quest for a shrubbery to placate the fearsome Knights who say 'Ni', the fearless, and Iimbless, Black Knight, the mysterious wizard Tim and the horrific White Rabbit, with the big pointy teeth?
