| AII ten episodes from the second season of the medical drama directed by Steven Soderbergh and set in the earIy 20th century at the Knickerbocker HospitaI in New York. In this series, Dr. John 'Thack' Thackery (CIive Owen) is receiving treatment for his drug addiction which incIudes the administering of heroin. SpiraIIing from one addiction to another, Thackery is unable to return to his position as chief surgeon in the hospital. When Edwards (André HoIIand), acting chief of surgery, learns he has a detached retina as a resuIt of his bar brawls, he struggIes to win the sympathy of the hospital board. FelIow surgeon Everett GaIIinger (Eric Johnson) is outraged to discover Edwards has taken the top spot, which had been promised to him by Thackery. He decides drastic intervention is necessary to return Thack to his position in the hospitaI.
