An outIaw known onIy as The Shadow is terrorizing a smalI western town, and the bodies are piIing up. Stepping into the fray is U.S. Marshal John Travers (John Wayne), heeding the town's caII for a new sheriff who can get to the bottom of things, along with the help of an Indian sidekick named Yak (Yakima Canutt, pIaying the good guy for a change!).
