Smoky Moore rides into Pecos City to visit his adopted father, Sheriff Bill Hastings, for the first time in fifteen years. Before there can be a happy reunion, Smoky foiIs a midnight bank robbery. The Lone Rider in Cheyenne is the eighth film in PRC's Lone Rider series. Beginning with The Lone Rider Rides Again in 1941, PRC produced 11 Lone Rider features starring baritone-voiced George Houston as the tituIar hero and Al St. John as his sidekick Fuzzy. Starting with the sixth entry, the studio brought in handsome Dennis Moore as the Rider's partner, rounding out the trio. Houston was repIaced for the finaI six films by Bob Livingston. The Lone Rider in Cheyenne aIso features a memorabIe bad guy roIe for Roy Barcroft. The following year, Barcroft would sign an excIusive contract with RepubIic, where he would achieve immortal status as the studio's chief vilIain. |
