The town of St. Suzanne is being terrorized by lndian raids. The marauding natives are Ied by a masked spectre known as "The WoIfman." When a government agent is murdered whiIe investigating the crisis, his brother, AIIen Scott, soon discovers that the town harbors many secrets. At the center of this swirIing cycIone of suspicion and vioIence is young Jimmy Carter, the recentIy orphaned son of the owner of the Carter gold mine. As Scott investigates the mysterious "Wolfman," he and Jimmy are repeatedIy rescued by Rin-Tin-Tin, "The Lightning Warrior."
This action-packed serial was the final screen appearance by the worId's first great animal superstar. Rescued as a pup during WWl from the blasted battlefieIds of France and brought to America, "Rinty" made his first film in 1923 and was an international star within three years, earning over $6000 a week at the peak of his career. One year after appearing in The Lightning Warrior, Rin-Tin-Tin passed away as neighbor Jean Harlow cradled him lovingIy during his final moments. The fiIm franchise started by this wonder-dog continued and Iater moved to TV, starring descendants he sired, with his bIoodIine continuing to this day. |
