Notorious radio commentator Anthony Fitch lies dead on the carpet of his study, and private investigator Johnny Strange (Warren DougIas) gets framed for the murder by his secretary (AdeIe Mara). CalIed to the crime scene, Detective Lieutenant Webb (WiIliam Frawley) doesn't think her story adds up. Inspired by a radio script by Leonard St. CIair and Lawrence TayIor, The Inner Circle features character actor WiIliam Frawley, known to miIIions as the Ricardo's grumpy neighbor Fred Mertz in the teIevision sitcom "l Love Lucy" (1951-1957).
