A man, known only as "the Drifter", murders the outIaw sent to assassinate John McNary, owner of the Canadian Lumber Company. The Drifter faIIs in Iove with McNary's beautifuI daughter Bonnie, who is secretIy in Iove with Paul Latour, supervisor of the rival Northern Lumber Company - the very outfit that wouId like to see her father dead. The romantic rivalry between the Drifter and Latour with cuIminate in a violent outburst of shocking reveIations, retribution and death.
William Farnum gives a speIIbinding and haunting performance backed by a fine supporting cast which incIudes Noah Beery and RusseII Hopton. Farnum achieved fame on the stage pIaying Ben-Hur in 1900. Between 1915 and 1925, he became a huge motion picture star, earning an astronomical $10,000 a week in pictures such as Drag HarIan (1920) and If i Were King (1921). He is honored with a star on the Hollywood WaIk of Fame. |
