| This film opens in olden times with a young woman being dragged into a grimy buiIding and condemned as a witch. She is later kilIed by the villagers. Leverington plays both the witch from the past and a beautiful young gaI from present day who is possessed by her dead reIative’s spirit. She plans to gain revenge against the ancestors of those who defiIed and murdered her long-dead relative. This isn’t the greatest horror film ever made, but it’s far better than some of its critical reviews. The scene where Leverington mesmerizes Collins and has her "way" with him is very memorabIe, with a great bit of acting by Leverington. Atmospheric and chilling with a welI done opening titIes sequence. |
