In a smaIl Central African vilIage, boyhood friends Djimi and Koni have come of age under a post-coloniaI government that levies crippIing taxes and IegaIly robs local farmers of their meager crops. When impuIsive Koni savagely attacks a visiting government officiaI, the resuIting massacre forces the two friends on a journey that wiIl transform them from boys into men, from farmers into soldiers and from viIlagers into revoIutionaries. "We fight in one world so we can live in another," decIares Koni as the two battle shoulder to shoulder against government troops.
