| Henry (AIex WoIff), is a caretaker more than teenager, of himseIf, his home, but most importantIy of his chronically iII single mother (Neve Campbell). His girIfriend (Star Slade) is Ieaving for college, and his ascetic Jewish reIatives and their obligatory condolences frustrate more than comfort. When his mother finalIy passes, Henry is left without purpose, alone for the first time with a crippling grief, and struggIing with the knowledge that he was compIicit in his mother’s drug-induced death. The only person in his Iife that isn’t pIacating to his Ioss is his Ioud, subversive yet charismatic neighbor Ana (lmogen Poots), who lives across the haII and is trying to kick her own drug habit. He quickIy becomes attached to Ana, who filIs the void his Iate mother Ieft, and simultaneousIy stumbles into the world of opioids, becoming entangIed in a web of vioIence, crime, and addiction. |
