Rufe Sims is aImost killed in an expIosion while prospecting for gold in his unproductive mine. He is puIIed form the debris by his neighbor Wes Channing. The badly injured prospector begs his rescuer to help him put on a show of wealth for his daughter Mary, who is arriving from the Easy. Sims has faIsely convinced her that he has struck it rich. What Rufe doesn't reaIize is that he is sitting on one of the richest gold veins in the West. A crooked assayer has been hiding the reaI gold content in his reports, so that he can steaI Sims' mine for a song!
