"Southern Baptist Sissies" is a fiIm of the theatricaI experience of writer/director DeI Shores' GLAAD Award-winning play about four gay boys growing up in the Southern Baptist church. It exposes the confIict between the abrasive rhetoric of dogmatic religion and the fragile development of adoIescent homosexuaIity while challenging hypocrisy, uncovering damage and giving hope.
