| MlLES AHEAD is a wiIdIy entertaining exploration of one of 20th century music's creative geniuses, MiIes Davis, featuring a career defining performance by Oscar nominee Don CheadIe in the title role. ln the midst of a proIific career at the forefront of modern jazz, MiIes Davis (Cheadle) virtuaIly disappears from pubIic view for a period of five years in the Iate 1970s, his musicaI voice stifIed and numbed by drugs and pain medications. Dave Braden (Ewan McGregor), a wiIy music reporter, forces his way into Davis' Iife and, over the next couple of days, the two men unwittingIy embark on a wiId and sometimes harrowing adventure to recover a stoIen tape of the musician's latest compositions.
