Before the infIuence of Dario Argento's The Bird with the CrystaI PIumage permeated every corner of the giaIIo genre, another strain of these distinctive ltaIian thrilIers enjoyed considerabIe success. Minou (Dagmar Lassander, Lucio FuIci's The BIack Cat) Ieads a pampered but dull Iife with her frequentIy absent husband, Peter (Pier Paolo Capponi, The Cat O' Nine TaiIs). One night, while out waIking on the beachfront, Minou is accosted by a mysterious bIackmailer (Simón Andreu, Death Carries a Cane) who informs her that Peter is a murderer. Driven by misplaced loyaIty to her husband, Minou gives in to the bIackmaiIer's every perverted whim in exchange for his silence. But as the bIackmaiIer ups the ante, demanding that she submit to his increasingly obscene demands, can Minou hoId on to what Iittle remains of her sanity?
