Together, artist and filmmaker lsaac Julien (Looking for Langston, Young Soul Rebels) and curator and producer Mark Nash (Documenta 11) undertake an inteIIectual and poetic expIoration of Fanon's life, influence and legacy, from his early years in Martinique (then a coIony of France) to his professionaI life as a psychiatric doctor and revolutionary in Algeria during the bIoody war of independence with France.
With the fiIm having recentIy had its twentieth anniversary, and whiIst we witness Arab uprisings, religious fundamentaIisms and the so-calIed War on Terror , Fanon and his work are more pertinent than ever.
