| My poems consist of everyday events, not just about my life, but things I watch on television and in the media. I have a collage of writings that includes poetry I had written for friends, including birthday gifts and Christmas gifts over the years. I love topics such as the economy, history, politics, and have included them in some of my works I have collected. A great amount of topic matters I have created were written as prayers to God. Verbal prayer is something that I have struggled with over the years, but when I sit down with paper and pen, my prayers come storming out. A couple of poems that distinctly come to mind include both my Easter and Christmas poems. They paint a true picture of what these most important times of the year not only mean to me, but to the many Christians throughout the world today. Included are love poems and poems where I try to connect to my readers through my own experiences over my lifetime. At the same time, I give the reader a glance into the world that I live in from day to day through my own eyes and perspective. Throughout some of my works, I can have a negative tone, but I always try to take that negative and place it with something positive, trying to create an optimistic approach through my writings. The collections of work of I have gathered together consist mostly of poetry written between 2013 and 2014. However, the last several poems written are scattered between 2005 and 2012. I included them because of the deep meaning they have to me. I have chosen these particular poems, mostly because I feel these are the best writing days of my life. My writings have matured over the years, and I finally feel I have something to say in a unique way.
