Molly Larsen can hardly believe it. She had an awesome life in Arizona—a great best friend, a prime spot on her gymnastics squad, and a built-in pool in her backyard—but now she and her family are moving! Molly has to leave her school and Eden, her best friend, behind! Luckily, Eden has a plan: Molly is going to rule her new school by becoming friends with Roseann Bleeker, the most superpopular girl in class!

But soon Molly sees that impressing Roseann is going to be tougher than she expected. Roseann just doesn't seem to get Molly's sense of humor—or any humor for that matter. And on top of that, her gymnastics training has gone from terrific to torture.

The only person in the Garden State who Molly really seems to get along with is her neighbor Shrimp. But Shrimp is about as far from popular as anyone can be. What does a new girl have to do to get some friends around here?
