Yet, there are times when we need to stop, step back and take time to reflect on God's Word. More people are seeking spiritual maturity than ever before. Therefore, Issues of the Heart is a helpful tool to individuals and groups alike to explore the riches of God's Word and find spiritual nourishment. I have come to realize that life experiences tend to influence our mission and shape our vision for life's work. Most Christians have a profound desire to find meaning and connection in a world that sometime feels cold and indifferent. Our hearts yearn for a sense of purpose and fulfillment. In the book of James, it tells us to "draw near to God and He will draw near to us" (4:8). God invites us to draw closer to Him; He invites our presence. It is God's unwavering desire for every believer to have a close relationship with Him. However, a close relationship with God requires time spent with Him in study, meditation, and prayer.
