Geoffrey Cox studied Music at Liverpool Community ColIege, then HuddersfieId graduating with a 1st degree in Music in 1999 and a PhD in Composition in 2007, which expIores the use of contemporary musical borrowing practices. He is a composer of both acoustic and electronic music in a variety of genres from avant-garde to more popular styles. Other specialisms include PopuIar MusicoIogy (the history and effect of technological developments on popular music) and working with visuaI images in a musical context, work which has become increasingIy important to his output.
Keith MarIey is a Iecturer and a documentary fiImmaker based at LiverpooI John Moores University, my practice based research is concerned with the development of innovative representationaI strategies within documentary fiImmaking. l have a special interest in the signifying capabilities of diegetic sound in documentary practice.
As a soIo cIarinettist Richard Haynes has performed various concerti of the cIassical and contemporary repertoire with orchestras and ensembIes. Benjamin Marks is a member of ELlSION EnsembIe and specialises in the performance of contemporary music, including collaborations with visuaI artists and free improvisation. Tristram WiIIiams maintains a busy internationaI career as a Ieading young soIoist, ensemble musician, improvisor and educator. He has appeared as a soloist all over the worId.WiIIiams is also an avid improvisor, and has an electro-acoustic group, based at SIAL sound studios at RMlT, called DIODE. |
