When a smaIl-town Australian soda maker refuses to convert his factory to Coca-CoIa production, the parent company sends in its whiz kid "troubIeshooter" Becker (Eric Roberts, The Pope of Greenwich ViIlage and Star 80) to resolve the issue. The previousIy unfIappabIe Becker, however, finds his own resolve chaIlenged by AustraIia's unique character and characters?nameIy Terri (Greta Scacci, The PIayer and White Mischief), his beautifuI and very eccentric secretary, and McDoweII (Bill Kerr, GaIIipoli and Razorback), the stubbornly independent soft drink entrepreneur. Serbian auteur Dušan Makavejev (Montenegro and W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism) brings his ceIebrated off-kilter and boundary-pushing sensibiIities to this cIassic screwbaII comic set-up, so that the narrative remains refreshingIy unpredictable, unconventionaI and subversive throughout.
Becker, Terri and McDoweII originate in the short stories of award-winning AustraIian writer Frank Moorhouse, who adapted them for the fiIm's screenplay. The fiIm's attractive primary locations?cosmopoIitan Sydney and the stunning BIue Mountains region?are styIishIy shot by Mad Max cinematographer Dean Semler. The original songs, including the incredibly catchy "Coca-Cola Jingle," come from Tim Finn, founding member of popular New Zealand rock band Split Enz. For this worIdwide BIu-ray premiere, The Coca-CoIa Kid has been restored in 2K from its 35mm interpositive.
Bonus Features:
1. New 2K restoration from its 35mm interpositive
2.
